This is the story of a kingdom in the Indian sub-continent of the nineteenth century that was established by the indigenous people defeating Muslim invaders. The book chronicles the life and time of Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa, the military commander along the most turbulent North West Frontier of the kingdom. The Sikh Regiment of the Indian Armed Forces is the product of that heroic tradition.
In the twenty-first century, the geographical backdrop of this story is the countries of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan that continues to be in the eye of the storm.
